Vastu tips for door placement in the house

The placement of door in the house has a lot to do in the peace and serenity of the house. It is believed that doors in the East, North, West and South corners of the house should be perpendicular to each other. Here are a few vastu tips for door placement in the house.

No door should face the West or South direction of the house as it is considered inauspicious.

In vastu shastra there is no rule on the number of doors in the house or if it should be in even number or odd number.

If the house faces the north, the main entrance door should be placed at Northeast corner. If it is not possible to be placed in this direction, North direction is recommended as second best.  

If the house is exactly 90 degrees, the door can be placed in the East or Northeast.

If the house faces the East, the main entrance door should be placed at Northeast corner or in the East. This direction is associated with Fame and Knowledge.

If the house faces the South, the main entrance door should be placed at Southern Southeast corner or at the South. This direction is associated with Happiness.

If the house faces the West, the main entrance door should be placed at Western Northwest corner or in the West. This direction is associated with overall good.

If the house faces the Southwest, the main entrance door should be placed in the Northeast or may be towards Northern Northeast or Eastern Northeast.

The main entrance door should be made from good quality wood and its width should be bigger than other doors of the house.
