A Vastu Consultant is deemed to possess following knowledge according to ancient Vedic texts.

Astrology, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Sculpture, Plastering, Wood work, Stone work, metal work, non metal work & painting. He should have a good caliber & should be honest & devoted.

According to Hindu mythology, initially architects were use to do religious rituals in addition to civil works. Later on this class was deprived off doing worship & religious ceremonies for under-construction structure, these are now carried out by priest classes.

As a practice now a days all artisan classes belong to this category. Popularly they are called offspring’s of Vishwakarma (the first architect ).
