This refers to text part of Vastu Shastra containing study material relating to plot of land and civil structures. Text part is covered under Vastu Vidya (Knowledge of Vastu) and execution is covered under architecture.

Vastu is a comprehensive study of astrology (using directions as a selection criteria for Moon sign and Sun sign), symptomatic knowledge, major periods of planets, finding auspicious period for foundation stone based on mutual transit of Sun and dragon’s head and auspicious muhurtas (starting period) of digging of earth, foundation stone, sequence of construction, laying down of door and roof and entrance time of a house. Rules regarding better input of light, air, space, earth and fire and covered under structure. For riches wealth, money, income and peace, zones of living for head of the family, children, females, relations, servants, animals & vehicles are prefixed and included in layout plan before execution. This is a unique part of Vastu Vidya.
