It is believed that birds are messenger of God as they have the ability to soar through the sky like the gods. In some cultures, if you hear the first cuckoo of the year while lying in bed you are doomed to die.

Mirrors are believed to be connected to afterlife in many cultures. Some believe that all mirrors within the vicinity of a dead body must be covered to prevent the soul from being reflected back during its attempt to pass out of the body and on to the afterlife.

Apparently clock must not be restarted until the deceased is buried. It bring about bad luck into the household.

Everyday activities enjoyed as part of a trio can spell your demise. Likewise, if three people are photographed together, the one in the middle is destined to die first.

It is considered a good sign if the feet of the corpse point east towards the rising sun. It is believed that this position is easier the corpse to climb out of his grave and head east on Judgment Day.

According to a Mongolian ritual, wandering souls often latch on to other people`s hair and start residing there. If you cut your hair while a soul is residing there, then you would soon die.
