How to arrange Study Room according to Vastu

Study room is a place where one sits peacefully to concentrate on studies. This is the room linked directly to the future of a student. The vibration in this room creates unseen noise making it unpleasing. The remedy to these problems lies in vastu shastra.

Here are 6 tips on how to arrange the study room. 

1. Direction

The study room should be located in the east, north or northeast direction of the house. These directions are believed to improve the concentration of students. There should be no mirror reflection or any beam.

2. Lighting

The study room should be properly lit with scope of proper sunlight to enter the room. The windows of study room should be in east or north direction. Table lamps should be placed in southeast of the table.

3. Bookshelves

Bookshelves and cabinets should be towards the east, north and north-east directions and never in the center. Avoid placing bookshelf above study table as it creates undue stress. Never mess the study table with lots of books.

4. Placement

Place the study table with the student facing east or north while studying and the table should not stick to the wall and should have a solid wall behind for support. The study table should be square or rectangular in shape and not too big or too small in size.

5. Wall Colors

Use light colors like light green, blue, cream or white to paint the walls and avoid using black.

6. Shape

Pyramidal shaped study room is recommended in vastu if the room is used only for the sole purpose of studying.  Regular square or rectangular shapes are also fine.
