Decorating Bathroom according to Vastu Shastra

Previously, bathroom used to be constructed outside the house. Because bathroom means dirt our elders said bad smell creates health problems. But with the evolution of our living style, we are constructing everything in one roof.

Apartment life is very common for us. None-the-less, we can still make this work with the ancient text of vastu shastra. Here are a few tips:

1. The toilet should be located in west or northwest direction of the house and never on the east or northeast of the house.

2. Wash basin and shower can be either in north-east, north or east direction.

3. Combined bathroom and toilet should be in north-west direction.

4. The person sitting in the toilet should face the North or the South.

5. The bathroom should not be adjacent to Pooja Room, kitchen and under the stairs.

6. Geyser and other electrical appliances should be installed in south-east corner of bathroom.

7. Water closet should be placed in the West and the South direction.

8. The slope of bathroom floor should be in the North and not in south-west or south-east direction.

9. Septic tank should be in northwest of the house and not in the south-east, north-east, north or east directions.

10. The color of bathroom tiles can be white, sky blue and light blue. Avoid dark colors like black or red.

11. The change room should be built in the South or West direction. The mirror should be on northern or eastern wall.

12. The door of bathroom should be in North or East direction and not in the south-west direction.
